RedDrum IT

Red Drum IT engineers getting ready to leave their Cwmbran based Head Quarters, for Cardiff City’s first match of the season, against Watford. Operations Manager, Mark Williams, says that this both marks the end and the start of a new hectic period for RedDrum and their family of sports teams. Since the last fantastic match at CCFC stadium, when Wales beat Belgium 1-0, RedDrum engineers have been working flat out to completely replace the computing infrastructure, at the stadium. The Watford match will be the first test of the new environment.

In the forthcoming season, RedDrum will be managing the IT infrastructure at over seventy matches, for Wales, Cardiff City FC, Newport Gwent Dragons, Newport RFC and Newport County. RedDrum software will also be used at other professional sports stadia.

News October 2014

RedDrum IT Secure Cardiff City Contract

The South Wales Argus wrote:

"Cwmbran-based IT specialist,RedDrum IT, has been appointed by Cardiff City Football Club as its in-house IT support company.

RedDrum IT, which is operates from the Springboard Business Innovation Centre in Cwmbran, has already helped the club to deliver the UEFA Super Cup match between Real Madrid and Seville, and received praise from UEFA for the quality of their service.

The firm will continue to provide the club with IT support, managing the club's day-to-day IT requirements as well as playing a crucial behind the scenes role at major matches.

Paul Hilder, MD of RedDrum IT, said: “We are delighted to be working with Cardiff City FC. Our first job for the club, delivering the UEFA Super Cup match between Real Madrid and Seville, was a massive test for our engineers, but one they passed with flying colours.

“Larger IT support providers talk about partnership, when all they really see is a continuous income stream from a captive client. Further, they simply cannot deliver the micro-management that modern systems require. We truly partner with our clients, taking control of their networks and systems, and treating them as our own. I believe this is why companies are so keen to work with us.”

Wayne Nash, stadium manager at Cardiff City FC, said: “We are very happy to be working with RedDrum. They have already proved their worth in helping us to successfully deliver the UEFA Super Cup, Real Madrid v Sevilla, in very demanding circumstances.”

As well as Cardiff City FC, RedDrum IT, which employs a team of nine, also works with the Newport Gwent Dragons, Newport County and Newport RFC, as well as Alun Griffiths Civil Engineering Contractors, among others.

The company was established 15 years ago in Monmouthshire but moved to Torfaen when the Springboard Business Innovation Centre opened in 2006 to be close to other up-and-coming IT and technology based companies.

The Springboard Business Innovation Centre is a joint venture between Torfaen council and Welsh Government, and was set up to support technology companies by offering them high-quality accommodation and access to business support.

Lewis Jones, deputy leader of Torfaen council, said: “This is fantastic news for RedDrum IT and shows how the facilities and support on offer at Springboard can help companies secure major contracts.”
